Salary Range: $99,200.00/yr – $128,956.00/yr
Overview: As an Administrative Officer at the Smithsonian Institution, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing finance, budget, personnel, timekeeping, property, procurement, travel, and facilities management functions. We’re seeking a detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
- Manage multiple Federal, Trust, Grant, Gift, and Discretionary funds.
- Provide technical advice on financial systems, including entry of financial data into the Smithsonian Institution’s official accounting system and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
2. Procurement:
- Independently gather documents for procurement packages.
- Contact vendors for bids, verify fund availability, and select vendors to ensure optimal quality, price, and delivery of items and services.
3. Human Resources Liaison:
- Serve as the primary contact for staff regarding personnel matters, ensuring confidentiality.
- Provide guidance on all personnel actions, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
1. Experience:
- GS-12 Experience: Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service.
- Specialized experience includes administrative functions related to budget activities, procurement, and personnel actions.
2. Education:
- There is no education substitution for specialized experience.
