Saksham Scholarship Program for Drivers’ Children is an initiative by Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Limited (MMFSL) to provide financial assistance to the children of drivers’ community to support them in continuing their education. Mahindra Finance believes in empowering the academic and career goals of children of drivers by removing the financial barrier. The scholarship is open for students from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Karnataka, who are studying in Classes 1 to 12, graduation, and postgraduation levels. The selected scholars will be provided with a one-time (fixed) financial assistance of up to INR 20,000 to cover their academic expenses.

Eligibility

  • Open for students from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Karnataka.
  • Applicants must be studying in Class 1 to Postgraduate.(Any Year)
  • Applicants must have secured 60% and above marks in their previous class.(only for 9th to PG students)
  • One of the parents should be a driver (all light motor vehicles and small commercial vehicles such as Taxi, Jeep, Car & delivery vans such as Pickup, magic, school van, etc.) and should hold a valid driving license.
  • Annual family income of the applicants from all sources should not be more than INR 3,00,000

Note:

  • Preference will be given to girl students.
  • Scholarships will be granted to a maximum of two students per family.
  • Children or family members of Mahindra Finance & Buddy4Study are not eligible.

Q1. What is Saksham Scholarship?
Saksham Scholarship is a CSR initiative by Mahindra Finance. Under this initiative, scholarships will be provided to children of drivers (all light motor vehicles and small commercial vehicles such as Taxi, Jeep, Car & delivery vans such as Pickup, magic, school van, etc.) whose annual family income is less than INR 3 lakh. There will be a due diligence and selection process for awarding these scholarships.

Q2. Who is eligible to apply for this scholarship?
Children of Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) and Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) drivers community who are enrolled in Classes 1 to 12, graduation and postgraduation courses (both general and professional) are eligible to apply.

Q3. Do I have to make any payments?
No! You do not have to make any payment at all for participating in this scholarship program.

Q4. What is the selection process for this scholarship program?
The selection of scholars for the Saksham Scholarship Program for Drivers’ Children will be made based on their academic merit and financial background. It involves a multi-stage process as detailed below –

  • Initial shortlisting of applicants based on their academic merit and financial background
  • Document verification
  • Telephonic interview (from Class 11 onwards) of shortlisted candidates post document verification
  • Final interview with the scholarship selection committee for final selection

Q5. How will I receive the scholarship amount?
The scholarship will be transferred on an annual basis to the scholar’s bank account.

Yes, you can apply for the scholarship.
