National Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies 2023 is an initiative of the University Grants Commission, Government of India for students who are admitted in the first year of the postgraduate degree programme. The selected candidates will receive monthly financial assistance of ₹ 15,000 for 10 months for a duration of 2 years to pursue higher studies within India.

Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must –
- be an Indian national
- be admitted in the first year of the postgraduate degree programme in a recognised university/college/institution in India
- be below the age of 30 years as on the date of admission in the first semester/year of a PG programme
- have an annual family income less than ₹ 2,50,000 from all sources
The following applicants are ineligible for the scholarship scheme:
- The students who have already acquired any postgraduate degree.
- The students admitted in a PG programme through open/distance/correspondence, private or part-time mode, are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Selection Criteria
The scholars will be selected on the basis of the merit of candidates except in case of single/twin/fraternal girl child
